This is just a quick reminder that nothing is free. Nothing.
Someone is paying for it in one way or another–though an organization, through taxes (which many but not all of us pay), etc. It may even be a no-strings-attached gift. But it’s not free.
IT MAY BE FREE TO YOU, but somewhere, somehow, it was paid for by another person or group. Someone worked –maybe you, or maybe someone else, so you could have it. Certainly nothing is free from the government, as all its money comes from us.; we pay for everything it “gives” us. We can’t ever let them trick us into believing that something is free just because the government is supplying it.
For Christians who insist that hey, wait a minute, salvation is free, remember Philippians 2:5-8: Have this mind among yourselves, which is yours in Christ Jesus, who, though he was in the form of God, did not count equality with God a thing to be grasped, but emptied himself, by taking the form of a servant, being born in the likeness of men. And being found in human form, he humbled himself by becoming obedient to the point of death, even death on a cross. (ESV)
Yes, our salvation is free to us, but it cost Him plenty!
